WHO I AM

Evelyn Brooks is the Texas State Board of Education Member for District 14. She brings over 23 years of experience in education and youth development, including classroom teaching, tutoring, homeschooling, mentoring, the founding of a small private school program and a summer STEM science youth camp program, and work as a youth development facilitator.

Evelyn Brooks is devoted to defending and protecting our children. A spokeswoman for faith, family, and liberty, she has seen how Texas public education can be more about adults than our precious children. Her prayer is for protection of God-given parental rights, school choice, and a return to traditional education where the focus is on teaching students how to think rather than what to think.

She is a proud wife and a mother to two young adult daughters, Ashlynn and Brianna.

WHERE I STAND

Evelyn understands the consequences of a failed education system that lets students down, in contrast to a quality education system that uplifts students' futures. Through this experience, she creates superior knowledge-based standards and selects rigorous and challenging curricula to challenge children to achieve academic excellence.

She is for eliminating the over-sexualization of children through Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE); eliminating hatred of our American heritage through Diversity, Equity, and Diversity (DEI); and eliminating indoctrination through Social Emotional Learning (SEL).
